Reflections From the Pastor
Without
God
Let's take God
out of our schools and see what happens. Let's take God out of our
judicial system and see what happens. Let's take God out of our daily
life and see what happens. What happens is chaos. What happens is
despair and depression. What happens is lack of purpose. We have mass
killings in our schools, some done by teenagers. We have miscarriages of
justice and rapists and child-molesters, killers and thieves, walking
freely among us. We kill pre-born babies and call it choice. We have
suicides and homicides and drunken orgies in our midst. We lose our way
and our purpose for being.
Blaise Paschal said: "There is a
God-shaped vacuum within us which only God can fill." However when we
take God out of our lives that vacuum will be filled with something.
Drugs come to mind alcohol is a powerful drug. There is carnage on our
highways and in many lives. Suicide and homicide are far too prevalent.
But without God in our life, what do you expect?
Wake up America! Wake up people!
God is! And you are going to have to deal with Him. How will you deal
with Him? First you need to find out Who God is. You won't get a valid
representation of God though the newspapers or magazines or on most TV
stations. But God hasn't hidden Himself. He has given us His Holy
Inspired Word handed down for thousands of years. Read the Bible and then
decide for yourself Who God is and what God wants from you.
If you come to know God it will
change your life and it will change your destiny, if you truly seek to
come to know God and allow God to transform your life. He can and He will
if you ask. Without God there is absolutely no hope. With God there is
the chance for hope and life and a whole gamut of transforming resources.
Go to church and find out how much God loves you and what He wants from
you and for you.
The world seems to be falling farther
and farther away from God's plan. But we know that there will be a harvest
of souls. We must be ready to win folks to Christ. Jesus told His
disciples that He would make them fishers of men. We have that same
promise. Life sometimes seems too busy. But in these harried times we
need to stop and listen to the "still small voice" of God. That is how we
will hear what it is that God
is calling us to do.
There is a challenge. We can follow
the ways of the world or we can follow the ways of God. I urge you to
seek God's truth and submit to God. The choice is yours. Choose wisely.
This month we enter the season
of summer. Let the summertime of your soul bring growth and maturity to
your spiritual life. Put your hope in God and receive life everlasting.
God will never disappoint you. God will never leave you. God will never
forsake you.
May God richly bless you with
understanding.
